Road Warriors Ready to Embrace Tablets
By: Jack McCarthy, Content Manager
The burgeoning popularity of tablets is changing American life as they accommodate and enhance our increasingly mobile culture. And one group about to experience major change with tablets is the corporate sales force. These road warriors are quickly realizing that tablets offer usability, utility and innovation that gives them access to more tools and productivity apps than ever before as they do their jobs. This trend is confirmed by the Sales Management Association, which found in a recent survey that sales groups are ready to jump into full-scale tablet adoption. The survey found that more than 90% of sales organizations plan to invest more in tablets. Currently, tablets are used by just 40% of salespeople, but 70% of executives in sales organizations using tablets are already realizing ROI. And sales people, constantly looking for an edge, are seeing the value of these tools and will push to use these tablets, according to a recent CIO report. ShoreTel Mobility 6 and ShoreTel Conferencing are in the forefront of this trend, transforming the Apple iPad into a business communications tool, enabling integrated collaboration capabilities, increased accessibility and improved communications, regardless of the iPad user’s location. With ShoreTel Mobility 6, tablet users access a native iPad user interface that makes multi-modal communications possible. They can place and receive calls with their business persona, exchange instant messages, listen to voice mail messages and create multi-party calls by dragging names from enterprise directories together with a swipe of a finger.
