Social Networking, Enterprise 2.0, and Security: Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, or Threat?
With hundreds of millions of users sharing information about their personal and professional lives and trusting anybody on their “friends” list, it’s understandable that many security professionals can’t be found on Facebook. Clearly, threat developers and attackers are using social networks and Enterprise 2.0 applications as conduits for their efforts. But a tremendous amount of information is being shared on social networks, and increasingly, private and public sector organizations are using social applications to communicate with customers, partners, and constituents. So if Enterprise 2.0 applications are more and more “how business gets done,” how should security professionals respond? This talk will explore the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with Enterprise 2.0 applications and social networks on behalf of the security professional.
