For network managers, identity and access management have changed dramatically. User profiles have evolved from relatively static, black-and-white definitions to much more dynamic and mobile modes to accommodate guests, contractors, students, and others who need to access the network. Network-based identity management offers a transparent, flexible means of managing user profiles through virtual segmentation (vs. physically segmentation) – allowing seamless user and device mobility while protecting the network from unauthorized access. This session will discuss current and future strategies for identity and access management, with an overview of the underlying technologies.
